Was it the brain? No. The brain is merely a transformer and amplifier within the body. While it is true that any vibration striking the body is carried to the brain to be transformed into conscious perception, the actual reception of that vibration does not depend upon the brain, but upon the element of feeling within the nerve plasm of the body. This element is that positive nuclear spark, or soul, of the atoms composing the physical body. So the thought of deception came to me through the feeling channel.
